25th June 2023 we celebrated our 50th year of Littleton Bowls Club. Starting with a club competition followed by a hog roast, cooked by Hursley Butchers. Eight Wealth Management served drinks throughout the afternoon which was very welcome on such a hot day. Most if not all our members supported the day, playing, watching and cheering the teams on or enjoying the tasty roast pork roll and salads.
Bank Holiday Monday 29th May we spent an enjoyable afternoon in beautiful sunshine playing Drawn Triples for the Busbridge Shield. It was lovely to see two new members playing in the final and the winners taking home the shield were Shirley Kimber, John Williams and Eddie Bates
On a very sunny Sunday 21/05/23 we held our first friendly of the season against Lyndhurst which was the first time in a long time (if ever) we have played them. Happily I can say we came out overall winners .
The main winners were everyone who played in it ,who as far as the non-playing captain & tea boy could see had a very enjoyable afternoon.
Another very well attended competition run by Eddie Bates was held on Bank Holiday Monday, 1st May. The drizzle gave up and the sun shone making a perfect afternoon for bowls.
Winners of Dave Clarke Shield – Val Mack, Audrey Tarry and Geoff Bennett President Roger thanked, the green keepers for their work in getting the green ready for play, all for attending, it was lovely to see so many new players again
Our opening day competition organised by Eddie Bates was a great success with one of our newest members Carmel winning overall. President Roger thanked, the green keepers for their magnificent work in getting the green ready for play, everyone who had a hand in erecting the shed and canopy and it was lovely to see so many new members.
