Littleton entered this competition which is organised by Southampton & District Bowling Association.
It is a knockout competition, each team consisting of four rinks or four men; two rinks playing at home and two rinks playing away on the same night.
Our first round was against Romsey and we managed to win with 58 shots against their 57 – close call!
The second round was against Meon Valley and despite a shaky start we won with 62 shots against their 41.
Third round against Mayfield Park which we won 55 shots to 53.
The final was played at Banister Park on Tuesday 12th September over 16 ends. Littleton managed to hold the lead for the first eight ends and after the ninth end we score was 37 shots each. However the next seven ends were very much in Atherley’s favour and they won 74 shots to 52. The Ken Marsh Trophy was presented to the Atherley by Edwin Marsh, Ken’s son.
